MyMovEO: A Selective Audio Device Detector for the Blind and Visually Impaired
MyMovEO is a free Android application that helps the blind and visually impaired to activate Okeenea’s Audible Pedestrian Signals (APS) at crossways and audio beacons at points of interest. Okeenea is the leader of APS and audio beacons in France, and now offers this technology internationally to benefit all the blind and visually impaired people using a smartphone.
The greatest advantage of MyMovEO is its selectivity. The app detects nearby audio devices and lists them to the user, who can then choose and activate the one they are interested in. This app also works with hands-free kit audio menus, allowing for easier navigation. The app is fully compatible with smartphone screen readers, and users can navigate using the touchscreen or hands-free kit audio menu. Notifications of nearby audio devices are triggered when Bluetooth and Localization are switched on.
